Strawberry is the quintessential winter fruit. It is red, for starters, so comes with a lot of festive cheer. Plus it is sweet and tangy without being too much on the tang bit. However, don't be fooled into thinking that it is only perfect for your desserts alike. This fruit is as good with savoury as it is with sweets, and we tell you why!

1. Strawberry Salad
Easiest of the lot to prep because take a lot of greens deserve that red cheer amidst them. You can either do a romaine with leaves, or something with feta -but strawberry salad is super easy to prep and super yum too! Sweet because of the fruit but crunchy because of the nuts and leaves make it a brilliant winter afternoon staple.

2. Waffle Toast

Waffle brings the best bit out of the fruit, and the toasted bit adds to the fulfilling warmth that winter begets. This toast is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch whatever and whenever. Add dollops of butter and cinnamon to really bring home unbridled taste of warmth.

3. Strawberry Parfait

Layers are always good during winters (too cheesy? We don't care)! Parfait layers of chia, granola, strawberry, and some cream is the perfect nutritious breakfast. It is only a tad sweet, but perfectly smooth and great to start your day with. You can alter the layers as per your taste and preference, but we guarantee it will be your go-to breakfast option.

4. Strawberry Salsa and Tacos

If this doesn't make you believe in the versatility of strawberries, nothing will. Take your favourite spices, your juiciest veggies; chop up the strawberries and voila! Your tortilla wraps never looked this appetizing. Plus the spicy sweetness of the salsa will flourish your taste buds with a new and refreshing taste!

5. Stuffed Strawberries

You can go from cheese, to chocolate, to mushrooms, to literally whatever you so desire to make stuffed strawberries. The deliciousness of the food will make you fall in love with the season because of the options it presents to you. Plus it is a great thing to whip for your weekend winter parties! Nutella-Stuffed Strawberries #recipe from #tasteofhome, shared by Darlene Brenden of Salem, Oregon TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. + chilling MAKES: 12 servings Ingredients: 12 large fresh strawberries 1/4 cup Nutella 1 cup milk chocolate chips, melted 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts Confectioners' sugar Directions: 1. Remove stems from strawberries. Using a paring knife, cut out centers; pipe Nutella into strawberries. 2. Insert a toothpick into the side of each strawberry. Holding toothpick, quickly dip stem end of strawberry into melted chocolate; allow excess to drip off. Sprinkle with hazelnuts; place strawberries on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet, point side up.
