7 Japanese Cuisine To Have At Least Once In Your Lifetime

Japanese cuisine takes gastronomy to a level so superior that there is accessibility, there is reach, there is decadence, there is taste, and there is ingenuity. Whether on a level of appetizers, or for a wholesome meal or even in the dessert variety -there is mastery of culinary in every type of food!

But here are some essential Japanese food items that you should definitely try out!

1. Gyoza
Gyoza is often confused with dimsums, dumplings, eggrolls -you name it you have been confused by it. However Gyoza is most definitely one of the prime elements of Izakaya which is essentially fried snack. Whether it is blowfish, or pumpkin, or mushroom, or eggplant -this snack is readily available at any sake bar for us to gobble it all down!

2. Seaweed  
Chances are if you are a vegetarian, seaweed, tofu, edamame are your best friends in Japan. Offered as side salads with almost all Japanese meals, it is probably the most acceptable way of having algae. However topped with some pickled veggies and sesame seed it can be an extremely fulfilling dish



3. Sushi

Perhaps the lightest and filling dish that there is. Plus thanks to the creative geniuses that reside in Japan, your favourite dish also gets some art! Vegetarian or otherwise, having a sushi in Japan is a unique and often underrated experience!

4. Kawaii Madelines

Japan is big on Kawaii, which is essentially a nod to the entire Japanese pop culture of comics, anime and manga. From Gudetama to Doreamon to Hello Kitty -kawaii finds itself in all cuisines but especially confectionaries. Make sure you take a cute shaped cake or cookie to look at lovingly then eat as lovingly when in Japan!

5. Mochi

This sticky sweet-dish is best suited for some cold ice cream, but cheesecake, fondue, sorbet all alike -Mochi is it! It is like cheese and marshmallow had a baby and the baby superseded its parents!

6. Ramen

YES PLEASE! There is no sadness that ramen can't solve, no pickle it can't get you out of, no comfort it can't provide you. Noodles, miso paste, soy, egg, veggies, proteins -one ramen bowl is like a universe on its own, and we fully want to be citizens of that!
