Have you ever felt truly, madly, deeply hungry watching a movie? Like, popcorn isn't enough, and you need to stuff your face with inordinate amount of varied food. Literally lather your taste buds with oodles of flavours! Well, we have a quick list of movies that make you feel so hungry, that you could might as well just eat anything and everything!

1. Cheeni Kum
A love story that is based around Zaffrani Pulao is a love story we adore! An arrogant but lovable chef, so secure in his skills meets a lady who shakes his faith in said pulao, and his life too! This is a quick witted comedy that tingles your spine just as well tingling your palette, and has a splendid cast of Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu!

2. Julie Julia
Is there any role that Meryl Streep can't flawlessly portray?! And she aced the quirky, creative genius part of Julia Child, a brilliant chef who bridged the gap between American and Parisian cuisine. Julie, played by Amy Adams was just as endearing as a normal girl trying to put a twist in her life by replicating her idol's favourite recipes! It's a feel good movie with plenty beautiful food shots!

3. Ratatouille
An animated movie making us hungry is so rare, but that's exactly what happened while watching a skilled mouse chef help a down-on-luck cook in a la-dee-dah Paris restaurant. Flipping batters, steaming pots, and glistening sauces -Pixar really outdid themselves with the visuals in this movie, and made us all really hungry!

4. The Lunchbox
We, surely, love subtle love stories based around the idea of food. Nimrat Kaur plays a housewife trying to display her affection to her husband through homemade delicacies, which instead travel all the way to Irrfan Khan's reclusive character. It's a charming story that is annotated with food we rarely recognize as tantalizing, our very own ghar ka khaana!

5. Daawat-e-Ishq
A young couple played by Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, an overarching lesson in societal morality, and tonnes of Lucknawi street food. This movie celebrates the naiveté of a small town without being patronizing, and also includes a gamut of colourful storylines sprinkled with yum food!

6. Chocolate
For the first time in a lot of people's lives, chocolate was not just appetizing, but also quite sensual! Juliette Binoche is an astoundingly talented actress who really brought to life the art of making chocolate. This period cinema also reflected upon the expert chocolate maker's love story with the traveller, Johnny Depp. Friendship, laughter, love, and sinful chocolate makes this a perfectly romantic movie that will also get you very hungry!

7. Today's Special
With masterclass actors such as Naseeruddin Shah and Aasif Mandavi, this movie was going to be a sure shot success -but with the lip-smacking visuals of food and quintessential Indian recipe ingredients make it for an absolute wonder! The latter plays a chef who wants to learn French cooking, but ultimately due to circumstances can only manage his family's Indian restaurant. This is a rib-tickling comedy, but also so real about a diasporic life where you constantly shuffle between your dreams and your duties!

8. The Hundred-Foot Journey
Again a dilemma between French and Indian cooking, portrayed by the Late Om Puri and Dame Helen Mirren -it's a movie that possibly couldn't have gone wrong in either being a critical success or a popular one. Elegant visuals of food, an intriguing storyline, and most importantly a genius fusion of two classic cooking schools. It's an absolute must watch.

9. Luv Shuv Te Chicken Khurana
Huma Qureshi and Kunal Kapoor play neighbours who are in the quest of finding a long lost family recipe which is affably called Chicken Khurana after the latter's grandfather. What's in store for the viewer is a crackpot of a secret that is revealed serendipitously! This is an absolute unmissable watch for everyone, especially chicken lovers!
