Are you bored of the mainstream nose and ear piercings? If yes, then this is a must read for you! Here's a list of the most unusual and coolest piercings to give you a break from the monotony. Head out to the nearest professional to give a twist to your piercing game.

1. Conch Piercing
Conch is the shell of the ear. There are two parts of conch piercings - inner and outer. Inner is done at the centre of the cartilage whereas the outer piercing is done on the flat surface of the outer part of the shell. You can go for a stud or a ring depending on which one complements the shape of your face.

2. Medusa Piercing

A medusa piercing is done by penetrating the philtrum (the curved region above the upper lip an below the septum of the nose). It has recently gained popularity among young girls. There is an availability of various kinds of studs from gold to silver, crystal to metal, based on your choice.

3. Tragus Piercing
A tragus is the triangular part of the ear that connects it to the face. This piercing involves minimal pain and does not take a long time to heal. These aren't easily irritated by brushing your hair or putting in earphones, making it an attractive choice.

4. Septum Piercing
Celebrities from Jessica Biel to Lady Gaga have been sporting a septum piercing. Septum is the region between both the nostrils. This piercing is not permanent and you can take off the ring whenever you get bored of it. The pain level is low on the pain meter making it a better option than other painful ones.

5. Cleavage Piercing
Also known as the sternum piercing, it is done on the breastbone - a flat bone in the middle of the chest. It makes a bold fashion statement and goes well with v-neck tops, bikinis and dresses. One disadvantage is that it is more painful than other mainstream piercings so be sure before making your choice.
