How many times have you wished you could get inside someone's head to know what they are thinking! Some people are too good at hiding their feelings and can wear an extremely hard to read expression at all times. However, what they can't control is their body language. It's subconscious, effortless and more like a reflex and you can know a lot about a person and their feelings if you carefully observe their body language. Here's a list of 7 common body language gestures and feelings associated with them.

1. Position Of Feet
Tapping feet or curling toes indicate nervousness or stress. If the feet are pointed towards you in a conversation, it shows that the other person is invested and wants to continue the conversation. Similarly, feet pointing away indicate the person's disinterest. Next time when you feel like you are intruding, just take a quick glance at the person's feet.

2. Eye Contact
Eyes are said to be the gateway to a person's soul. Maintaining eye contact shows dominance and high self-esteem. It is said that if you want to know about two close people in the group, their eyes will meet when the group laughs. A lack of confidence is indicated when a person constantly switches focus and keeps looking away. It could also mean that they are consciously trying to filter the information they give out.

3. Real V/S Fake Smiles

When people have genuine smiles, their eyes light up. You can see a little twinkle in their eyes and it will make some wrinkles around the corners of the eyes. A fake smile comes and goes within seconds without affecting the eyes. Fake smiles show a sense of formality. So, these twinkles and crinkles can help you decide the comfort level.

4. Posture
When a person walks into a room with shoulders back and heads straight, it shows a powerful position. Slouching projects less power. Crossed body position like folded hands or sitting with legs crossed show disinterest and blockage to suggestions. In your next meeting, crack the code by the posture.

5. Rubbing The Back Of Neck Or Shoulders
It is a subconscious sign of comforting yourself. They are not very confident in what they are saying and they are trying to ease themselves. This could also imply of dishonesty, awkwardness or discomfort. So the next time you're trying to get something out of that person who always seems righteous, see if they are relying on some self-comforting gestures.

6. Eyebrow Positions
If someone is interested or amused by the talk, they might raise their eyebrows. Lower eyebrows depict tension or confusion. Look at someone's eyebrows for the reactions they are trying to hold back.

7. Imitating Body Language
It shows that they are in agreement with the other person or might be impressed by them. Mirroring body language is something we do subconsciously when we like someone. It is a sign of a nice conversation and shows that both parties are receptive to it. Sign that you can open up more!
