Unconventional Romantic Getaways in India

Tired of those conventional beaches and candlelight dinners? Looking for something fresh, something more unexplored? Well, we are spilling the beans on some unconventional romantic getaways in India that you must try out this season.

Half an hour away from Shimla is a tucked away little paradise called Mashobra. Inundated with oak and pine trees, this is the perfect place for the two of you to go on those long cozy walks. Visit the apple orchards and spend an afternoon picking wild strawberries. This little Himalayan retreat is for those couples who would like to try out some new local cuisines and just spend time getting lost in nature.

Up above, in the fluffy white clouds, hides the charming Triund. Most people visit Triund to trek, so if you and your loved one are into hiking then you should definitely check this spot out. Triund treks offer some breathtaking views and can prove to be the adventure couple's paradise. So if you're looking to walk amongst the clouds with your partner then pack your bags and head to Triund.

Havelock Island
Situated 57kms away from Port Blair is an enchanting island - Havelock. The snow white sands, beaches adorned with cute little huts and the pristine blue waters will surely set the tone for that romantic holiday. If you and your loved one wants to do more than just dip your feet in the ocean then lucky for you- the island has some spectacular scuba diving spots as well.

Another secluded gem is Khajjiar, an exquisite little hill station in Chamba tucked away in the Himalayas. This getaway sits on a small plateau with a stream-fed lake surrounded by meadows and forests. Just walk around the lake or spend time snuggling in the meadows while spotting some gorgeous peaks. It's no surprise that this place is also known as the 'Mini Switzerland' of India.

This magical place is famous for its beautiful rains, and breezy weather. It is also known to be astonishingly lush and green. Enjoy the constant monsoon in Cherrapunji at any time of the year with some hot tea, and warm company. Moreover when it does stop raining for a bit you can enjoy the sweet smell of Earth that never fails to melt one's heart.

Down south in the sunny land of Kerala sprawled out is a beach village called Mararikulam. This is one of the cleanest beaches in India and is so well hidden out that there are never too many people on the beach at the same time. A perfect getaway to trace those foot prints, enjoy a beautiful sunset or simply sip some cool coconut water on a hammock with your partner this tropical beach.

Jalori Pass
If you're the kind of couple who wants to do more than taking those long walks along beach shores? Maybe up your thrill quotient and get that adrenaline pumping? Then grab your backpack and head to Jalori Pass. Make sure you're well stocked with supplies along with a good motorbike and you and your partner are all set for an adventurous and breathtaking ride of your life.
